Factory-Finished Accoya, Ready to Install
Accoya is real wood that is modified at the cell level through acetylation, a non-toxic process that leaves it extremely stable in heat, humidity and rain. That stability is what makes a factory-applied color last even longer. There is no shrinking or cracked coating even after long periods of time. Beyond Tones is what happens when that wood meets a finish process built to match it.
Every board in every tone is coated to the same depth, cured in the same controlled facility, and shipped ready to hang, so the color on your sample matches the color on the wall, at board one and board four hundred.
Beyond Lumber can factory-match custom colors on Accoya for larger projects - ask when you request samples.
A great finish on an unstable board still fails. Accoya’s performance is what lets Beyond Tones make claims most siding colors can’t.
Above Ground warranty on the wood itself. This is among the longest in siding warranties in any material.
In fresh or ground water. So reliable that scientists use it as the bench mark against other modified timbers
Certified for use in termite zones and 22 times more resistant than pine, it's exceptionally durable.
Can be disposed of in exactly the same way as unmodified woods.
Field-applied stain depends on the weather, the crew, and the day. Factory finishing removes all three variables.

Each Beyond Tones board is coated to the same depth in a controlled facility - no lighter boards, no streaking, no lap marks where one day's work met the next.

Boards dry fully indoors, away from dust, rain, and direct sun, then ship ready to install - no waiting on weather windows to finish the job.

Because Accoya barely swells or shrinks with humidity, the coating stays flat and adhered instead of cracking and peeling the way it does on cedar or pine.

Yes. Our six signature colors are carefully selected to showcase the character of the wood, but custom colors may also be available for projects that call for something different. Contact us with the color or finish you have in mind, and we can discuss the options for your project.
Accoya is designed for exceptional longevity and dimensional stability. Accoya wood carries a 50-year warranty above ground, making it an excellent choice for exterior siding where durability and long-term performance matter.
Accoya itself requires very little maintenance to remain structurally sound. The finish, however, will naturally be exposed to sunlight and weather over time. Maintenance and refinishing needs depend on the look you want to preserve, the color selected, and the home’s exposure. Periodic cleaning and, when appropriate, refreshing the finish will help maintain its intended appearance.
Yes. Like any exterior finish exposed to sunlight and the elements, the appearance will evolve over time. The rate and character of that weathering depend on factors such as UV exposure, orientation, climate, and the color selected.
This natural change is part of working with real wood. With appropriate care and periodic refinishing, the original appearance can be maintained or refreshed as desired.
We recommend viewing a physical sample before making your final selection. Wood grain, texture, natural light, and surrounding materials can all affect how a color appears in person. Beyond Tones samples allow you to see both the finish and the character of the Accoya beneath it before committing to a color.
Accoya combines the natural warmth and character of real wood with exceptional dimensional stability and durability. Compared with cedar, it is significantly more resistant to swelling, shrinking, rot, and movement caused by moisture. Compared with fiber cement, Accoya provides the texture, grain, and authenticity of genuine wood while remaining highly stable in exterior applications.
The best choice ultimately depends on the architectural look, maintenance expectations, budget, and performance priorities of your project.
We’ll send physical samples of all six tones, along with pricing and lead times for your project.
