overview

Garapa, also known as Brazilian Ash, is a high-performance tropical hardwood known for its warm golden tones and fine, consistent grain. Its naturally smooth surface and striking appearance make it a popular choice for outdoor projects where both durability and design matter.

With impressive density and strength, Garapa stands up to the elements—resisting rot, decay, and insect damage without the need for chemical treatments. It does not easily splinter or warp, making it an excellent option for decking, siding, rainscreens, pergolas, and outdoor structures in both residential and commercial environments.

Garapa offers a slightly lighter aesthetic than other tropical hardwoods like Ipe, while still delivering excellent longevity and low maintenance. Over time, it gracefully weathers to a soft silver-gray if left untreated, or it can be maintained with oils to preserve its golden hue.

Our Garapa is FSC-certified, kiln-dried, and carefully selected for consistency and quality. It’s available in a range of dimensions, lengths, and milling profiles to accommodate a wide variety of architectural and design needs.

The best place to get Brazilian hardwood that I’ve found anywhere in California or online. The customer service is very good, the reps are attentive to you upon arrival and they are very knowledgeable. The quality of wood is superb and the pricing is cheaper than I can find anywhere else.

Absolutely the best place in socal for all of your tropical hardwood needs. Just built a small deck with 5/4 x 6 cumaru sourced from BL. Their prices can’t be beat locally. The selection is also great. They have all the major hardwood species.

Had a great experience with George the sales rep. He was very knowledgeable and honest. We ended up buying some thermally modified ayous panels for an outdoor media wall. So far so good. It looks great and hopefully will last for decades. (I sealed it with Cutek Extreme so hopefully that prolongs the lifespan). Thank you George!! Everyone has told us how much they really like the cladding used for our media wall and we appreciate your help with our project.
