Beyond Lumber – Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

At Beyond Lumber, we specialize in premium hardwoods, composite decking, and exterior building materials. Our goal is to provide clear expectations, reliable service, and consistent quality. By placing an order with Beyond Lumber, you agree to the following terms and conditions.


1. Product Characteristics & Customer Responsibility

Wood is a natural material. Variations in color, grain, texture, density, and tone are normal and expected. Unlike manufactured products, natural hardwoods will never be uniform.

Beyond Lumber does not pre-sort boards by appearance unless hand selection is requested and paid for. Minor characteristics such as surface checks, hairline cracks, wormholes, oil marks, stains, scratches, and splits are considered natural and acceptable.

By purchasing from Beyond Lumber, the customer:

  • Acknowledges and accepts natural wood variation

  • Understands that appearance is not grounds for rejection

Lumber Dimensions

All lumber sizes are listed in nominal dimensions. Actual finished sizes may vary due to milling, drying, or species characteristics. It is the customer’s responsibility to verify material dimensions before purchase.

Beyond Lumber is not responsible for:

  • Incorrect takeoffs or material estimates

  • Installation errors

  • Builder or contractor miscalculations

All quotes must be reviewed and approved prior to payment.

Beyond Lumber reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice.


2. Ordering & Pickup Policies

Placing an Order

Customers must carefully review all order details before payment.
Once an order is placed:

  • Changes or cancellations may incur fees

  • Special orders and custom milling cannot be modified or canceled


Warehouse Pickup

🕗 Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Orders must be picked up within 14 days of purchase

  • Unclaimed orders may be returned to stock

  • A 25% restocking fee will apply to uncollected orders

Same-day pickup is not guaranteed. Customers should call ahead to confirm availability.

Board Hand Selection
Hand-selection is available for an additional fee.


3. Delivery Policies

Local Delivery (Within 100 Miles of Los Angeles, CA)

  • Curbside delivery only

  • Customer is responsible for unloading

  • Drivers do not enter driveways, garages, or private property

  • Forklift service available for an added fee

Nationwide Shipping (Over 100 Miles)

  • Curbside delivery only

  • Liftgate service available for loads under 5 feet (additional cost)

  • Additional carrier fees may apply for difficult access

Delivery Inspection (Critical Requirement)

Customers must inspect and inventory all deliveries immediately.

To be eligible for any claim:

  1. Damage or shortage must be noted on the delivery receipt

  2. Photos must be taken at delivery

  3. Receipt must not be signed as “clean”

Once a delivery receipt is signed without notes, the shipment is considered fully accepted.

Beyond Lumber is not responsible for freight delays, carrier damage, or lost shipments once materials leave our facility.


4. Returns, Refunds & Restocking

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are final sale:

  • Glues, oils, adhesives, sealers

  • Custom-milled or special-sized materials

  • Opened product boxes

  • Special-order items

Stocked Hardwood Returns

  • Must be returned within 15 days of receipt

  • Customer pays all return freight

  • Materials must be unused and in original condition

  • 25% restocking fee applies


5. Out-of-Stock & Special-Order Items

If an item is on order from a supplier:

  • Beyond Lumber allows up to 60 days for delivery

  • If not received within that time, a full refund is issued

Special Order Cancellations

  • Cancelled before shipment: minimum 25% fee

  • Cancelled after shipment: return required within 24 hours

  • Returns after 24 hours become non-refundable


6. Claims & Damaged Shipments

To file a claim:

  1. Note damage on the delivery receipt

  2. Take photos immediately

  3. Contact your Beyond Lumber sales rep within 72 hours

Failure to follow all steps will result in claim denial.

If damage occurred during transit, Beyond Lumber will file the carrier claim on your behalf.


7. Order Cancellations

Stocked Items

  • Cancel within 72 hours → full refund

  • Cancel after 72 hours (before delivery) → 10% fee

  • Refused or canceled after delivery → shipping + 25% restocking fee

Special Orders & Custom Milling

  • Final sale

  • No cancellations or returns

Unauthorized returns or refused shipments will incur all related shipping, storage, and disposal fees.


8. SMS Privacy Policy

Information Collection

When opting into SMS, Beyond Lumber collects:

  • Mobile number

  • Consent to receive messages

Messages may include:

  • Promotions

  • Order updates

  • Account notifications

Opt-Out

Reply STOP to any text to unsubscribe at any time.

Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards; however, electronic communication is not 100% secure.


9. Policy Updates & Contact Information
