Overview

Cumaru 1×6 Brazilian lumber decking board
Cumaru 1×6 is premium Brazilian lumber with warm golden-brown tones. Many builders also call it Brazilian teak. It offers strong outdoor performance with simple care. In addition, it gives great value when you want a high-end hardwood look.

Strong hardwood that lasts
Cumaru has a dense grain, so it stands up to daily wear. It also resists moisture and insects. As a result, it performs well in wet climates and coastal areas. It also handles full sun and high-traffic spaces.

Cumaru 1×6 size and milling
Cumaru 1×6 has a 3/4 inch by 5.5 inch profile. Because of this size, it works for many outdoor and indoor details. Each board is kiln-dried for better stability. It is also FSC-certified for responsible sourcing. Plus, S4S E4E milling gives clean edges and a smooth install.

Where to use Cumaru 1×6
Use Cumaru 1×6 for both decking and design features. For example, it fits projects that need a warm wood look with strong performance.

Common uses

  • deck surfaces and picture-frame borders

  • cladding and exterior wall accents

  • fencing and privacy screens

  • soffits and overhangs

  • ceilings and accent details

  • stairs, landings, and walkways

Value vs Ipe
Cumaru is nearly as hard and long-lasting as Ipe. However, it often costs less. Therefore, many builders choose Cumaru 1×6 as a top value in premium hardwood decking.

Fire rating note
Cumaru can support Class A fire-rated assemblies when you build with an approved system. Also, local rules vary, so check your city and the product listing for your exact build.

Had a great experience with the sales rep. He was very knowledgeable and honest. We ended up buying some thermally modified ayous panels for an outdoor media wall. So far so good. It looks great and hopefully will last for decades… Thank you!! Everyone has told us how much they really like the cladding used for our media wall and we appreciate your help with our project.

Best prices and quality I found after looking at a few different places for lumber for my deck project. Customer service was excellent and they helped me with my selections, staff was very knowledgeable! Highly recommend Beyond Lumber and they will be my go to place for future projects.

Roy and his team are hard to beat. These guys are great, I’m a deck builder myself and their customer services is on point. Thanks for all your help team!

We had an excellent experience with Beyond Lumber. Their team was knowledgeable, professional, and guided us through every step of choosing the right materials. The quality of the IPE and other hardwoods was outstanding—everything arrived on time and exactly as promised. Beyond Lumber truly cares about customer service and delivers top-notch products. Highly recommend them for anyone looking for premium decking and outdoor materials

I started buying IPE from Brazilian Lumber over one year ago before the vendor opened the California location (i.e. where I am located). There were some issues related to the lumber (IPE), BUT the vendor made sure that all was taken care of and that I was happy. I mentioned “the issues” not to say that they product is bad, but rather to stressed out that the vendor provides superb service. No matter what you do, the problems may happen. Important is how such situations are handled. I was working with Luis, great guy to work with. I recommend this vendor.

I upgraded my backyard with Ipe deck tiles for my patio. It was definitely an investment, but it’s turned out to be worth every penny. The tiles were easy to install and the finished product is not only beautiful, but also incredibly durable and functional. I would highly recommend Ipe deck tiles to anyone looking to create a beautiful and long-lasting outdoor space.
